The Italian Patent and Trademark Office: how many are there in Italy?

The Italian Patent and Trademark Office – U.I.B.M. (Ministery of Economic Development) is the only and original authority in Italy that performs a task of Intellectual Property Rights (Trademarks, Patents, Designs and Models) .

The Italian Patent and Trademark Office is based in Rome and its official website is :  www.uibm.gov.it

How much is really to file a trademark in Italy?  There are three steps:

I. LICENCES FEES

Original form of application + stamp (€ 16,00)

Fees to be paid for U.I.B.M.  – fee for one class of goods and/or services (€ 101,00)

                                                         – fee for each class of goods and/or services in addition after the first (€ 34,00)

II.  ADMINISTRATIVE FEES

Fees to be paid for C.C.A.A.  – simple copy of the original form of application (€ 40,00)

                                                          – authentic copy of the original form of application (€ 43 + € 16,00 for stamp)

III. POWER OF ATTORNEY (only if the filing of the trademark application is made ​​through a lawyer or IP Consulent) 

Fees for the power of attorney (€ 34,00) + stamp (€ 16,00)
