GUIDE TO ITALIAN TRADEMARK SEARCH

FIRST STEP

In order to search trademarks identical/similar to your trademark you have to select Testo (Text) hyperlink.

You can also search by Codice (Code), Data (Date), Provincia (Province), Titolare (Holder), Classe (Class).

Finally, you can perform an Advanced Search (Ricerca avanzata) choosing the record type (invention, brand, design, or utility model) and combine search of date, text, owner, inventor, classification, and priorities fields.

SECOND STEP

1.            Select “Marchi” (Trademarks) on the very left of the webpage.

2.            Type the verbal element of your trademark in the orange box “digitare il testo da cercare:”.

3.            Click the “Cerca” Button.

N.B.

Searching for searching similar words: place an asterisk (*) on any portion of the name you are searching. This will return all results having those letters before or after the asterisk.

THIRD STEP

The results page will indicate the number of trademarks “Tipologia Marchi (… occorrenze)” and it will be possible to open each trademark report as well as to surf the results pages using the link at the upside of the webpage clicking on “precendete” and “successiva” hyperlinks.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Not only the Italian trademarks are in force in Italy, also the Community trademarks and the International trademarks designating Italy are valid in Italy. You can also search your trademark in the Community and International database for free.
