The world’s largest wish-granting organization. Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® has given hope, strength and joy to children with life-threatening medical conditions. From thei humble beginnings with one boy’s wish to be a police officer, they ’ve evolved into an organization that grants a child’s wish in the United States and its territories every 40 minutes.

In the fiscal year 2007, Make A Wish granted the heartfelt wishes of 13,006 children, theirmost ever in a single year. Each volunteer and staff member is determined to share the power of a wish® with even more children this year.

Make-A-Wish achieved these goals thanks to an unmatched network of Make-A-Wish® volunteers, donors, sponsors and staff members. Everything they do is focused on helping seriously ill children, and they devote ourselves to serving them first: More than 76 percent of each dollar they raise goes directly toward granting children's wishes.
